Project Flashback

Aptus has a long history of delivering quality bridge-attached utility solutions, and our work on the Marc Basnight Bridge (formerly the Bonner Bridge) is a great example.

For this project, we pulled three 1.5” HDPE ducts into a 6” XHW conduit, utilizing a duct bank system that Aptus previously installed across the bridge. The installation required four separate pulls—two at 3,500 feet and two at 5,300 feet—to complete the duct package from abutment to abutment. By strategically using the existing bridge for setup, our team successfully placed and proofed the entire system.

📌 Project Highlights:
✔ 2.8-mile bridge spanning the Oregon Inlet
✔ 90-foot clearance over the navigation channel
✔ Built for a 100-year lifespan
✔ Cost: $252 million

At Aptus, we take pride in the work we’ve done and the lasting impact of our bridge-attached utility installations. Looking back at this project reminds us why experience and expertise matter. Trust the professionals. Trust Aptus.
