A HISTORY OF EXCELLENCE

The founder, Scott T. Dill, began his underbridge piping career in 1996. Scott's vision was to create the leading underbridge piping company in the United States. As the company grew, the demand for additional services grew as well. The company went through a couple of name changes before settling on Aptus.

Aptus is Latin for connected, and that's exactly what we do. From our Corporate Offices in Charlotte, NC, and though our Regional Offices in the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, Florida, and the Southwest, we connect all utilities across bridges.

Aptus has more than 250 years of combined experience in management and construction. Our motto is Connect – Collaborate – Construct. We connect with our customers, determining their needs. We collaborate to come up with the best solutions for our customers in the most timely and cost effective manner. We construct the utility solutions in the most practical and efficient ways with the highest levels of quality and workmanship.

Scott T. Dill

Title: President, CEO

From: Born in Charlotte, NC. Resides in the Charlotte Metro area.

Work history: Scott began his bridge utilities career in 1996. He has founded three specialty utility construction companies: USBridgeLink, Conduit Constructors, and finally the newly branded Aptus.

Education: Business Finance Degree from Western Carolina University.

Skill sets: Scott has exceptional business and leadership skills that allow him to assess customer needs, present solutions, assemble resources, and complete the work. His attention to detail and his exceptional work ethic affords him the ability to deliver top quality projects in a timely manner.



Benjamin P. Stewart

Title: Controller

From: Born and raised in Tallahassee, FL. Currently resides in Lake Wylie, NC.

Work history: After college, Ben worked for a CPA firm in Tallahassee doing work for lumber companies and affluent local individuals. He moved to the Charlotte area in 2011 to work for a CPA firm which focused on small businesses in the construction and manufacturing industries. He has been been a member of the Aptus team since 2013.

Education: Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from Florida State University.

Skill sets: Ben is a Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional and holds a CPA in both Florida and North Carolina.




Miles D. Fleming

Title: Fleet Manager

From: Born in Texas. Resides in Huntersville, NC.

Work history: Miles has worked with trucks and large equipment all of his life. He has many years of responsibility for fleet maintenance and upkeep. He joined Aptus in 2015 as our Fleet Manager.

Skill sets: Miles has years of experience operating and maintaining a wide variety of vehicles from airplanes to excavators, and from Hydraplatforms to forklifts.



Shawn T. Snyder

Title: Vice President, Construction

From: Born in Vermont, grew up in both Vermont and New Jersey. Resides in Mooresville, NC.

Work history: Shawn started in a family business of residential irrigation that grew into commercial irrigation. Shawn moved on from there to site work and underground utilities. He spent 4 years in the US Navy as an Aviation Hydraulics and Airframes mechanic. Shawn has spent 25 years in underground utilities and past 10 years with Aptus as a Project Manager for bridge utility services.

Skill sets: When it comes to conduit utility work, Shawn has done it all. He has years of experience with every type of attached utility conduit: from steel to fiberglass, from fiber optic to fire suppression. Shawn also has operated all types of equipment and vehicles used in servicing bridge utilities: from cranes to Hydraplatforms, from core drillers to ban saws.




T. Edward Dill

Title: Human Resources, Talent Development

From: Born in California, raised in Western North Carolina. Resides in Charlotte, NC.

Work history: Edward has spent his career working in Operations and Human Resources for large corporations. He has years of construction experience in his time with USBridgeLink, Conduit Constructors and Aptus.

Education: Attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a double major of English and Political Science.

Skill sets: Edward has strong interpersonal and communication skills and a passion for employee development.



W. Burns Conrad

Title: Vice President, Business Development

From: Born and raised in Winston-Salem, NC. Resides in Cornelius, NC.

Work history: Burns has more than 20 years’ experience in sales and marketing. He has been in the construction industry for over 15 years with more than ten of that as part of the Aptus team.

Education: Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Tennessee.

Skill sets: Burns brings his vast sales experience and commitment to excellence to every customer interaction. He has honed his skills in construction operations and management to provide a complete package to the marketplace for bidding, estimates, materials, and installation. With his extensive knowledge in the industry, Burns is able to determine the best solutions to meet our customers’ needs in the most timely, and cost-effective manner.
